Get ready for lots of pictures of our fun trip to the Bay Area in California. We left the day after Tim's Birthday and this trip was to celebrate lots of things: My Birthday, Tim's Graduation, Tim's Birthday, and our 1 year anniversary.
We got in Friday night and our trip was packed full of activities. On day 1 we were able to ride the Cable Car, visit Fisherman's Wharf, go on a boat ride to the Golden Gate Bridge and around Alcatraz, see seals, get bread bowls with clam chowder of course and go to the Aquarium of the Bay.
Tim under the Golden Gate Bridge.
Lots of Seals.
We both really like seafood and had a lot of it on this trip!
Aquarium of the Bay
Jellyfish and starfish (some were huge).
On Day 2 we went to the California Academy of the Sciences. Can you see the animal in the tree? It is kind of dark.
We were able to see lots of animals on this trip. At this museum there were different habitats shown from all over the world. This is a baby ostrich.
We watched a movie about pangaea and were able to see similar animals from different continents of the world.
Day 3 we took a bus to the Muir Woods, Sausalito, the Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz and we went to a Giants game.
These trees were huge and it was fun to hike around the woods. We could have stayed here longer to go on more hikes.
We had to check out all of the sail boats in Sausalito!
A great view of the Golden Gate Bridge. It was a clear view without a lot of the fog.
It was fun to visit Alcatraz and hear about all of the stories. I thought that it would be a lot smaller than it was but we enjoyed learning about history.
Tim and I in prison, I would not want to live here.
The escape hole a prisoner used.
Our amazing seats right on the first base line. We couldn't have had better seats there
were fly balls all around us.
The Giants lost by a lot but it was still a fun game to see.
Day 4 we went to the San Francisco Zoo and the Exploratorium
I wanted to find an elephant and Tim liked the hippo.
I loved a lot of the flowers in the area.
At the Exploratorium we were able to try lots of science experiments.
Do you see people or columns?
On Day 5 we rented a car and went down to Santa Cruz. We were able to go to the Boardwalk, Swanson Berry Farms, a goat farm, and an old distillery.
The water was a little cold if you can't tell by Tim's face.
I love this picture of him trying to run away from the cold water.
At the boardwalk we tried a deep fried twinkie. It looked like a corn dog.
On our drive we stopped by some beaches.
We got jam at the berry farm and cheese from the goat farm.
We drove up the coast on the way back to San Francisco. My friend told me about the distillery that you could eat at. It was perfect, we sat by the fire as we ate and had a view of the ocean.
This was our dinner view.
Walking around after dinner since it was so quiet and peaceful.
Since we had a car we decided to go down the crookedest road. There were lots of tight turns and I would not want to live on or near the road.
On Day 6 we decided to end our trip at Six Flags. This Six Flags was cool because it also had animals like Elephants, Dolphins, Lions, and Tigers.
On Day 7 we went home. It was a busy trip and we did so many fun things together. I am glad I was able to make so many memories with my best friend. We are glad to be home, but we were so glad we went. It was my first time going to San Francisco and we got to see so many things. Now it is time to get ready for school to start on Monday.

Wahoo! This looks like it was lots of fun and I am so glad that you posted pics because I've never been to San Fran.
Since Clive served his mission in the Bay Area he wants to visit, we may have to try out a few places you went to. Looks like a great trip.
