Our Trip to Texas

On December 15th we left for Texas. Tim's brother was doing an internship in the Fort Worth area and were were going to help him move his stuff back up to Idaho. We decided to make a few stops on the way down. We also took Tim's nephew Marcus along for the ride.
We went and saw some arches in Utah.

I had never been to the 4 corners. It isn't the most exciting place to visit, but it was worth the picture and now I can say I have been there.

We also saw the Monticello Temple in Utah. They had a lot of snow down there even though it had just been warm at the arches.

This trip was full of places that I have never been before. I didn't even know what the Carlsbad Caverns were, but now I have been there. It was cool to walk all the way down in a huge cave. I'm glad that we didn't see any bats down in the cave. It was really cool to walk around and to also get out of the car for a while. I also liked that they had an elevator at the bottem so you didn't have to walk back out, but could ride it back to the top.

All of the pictures of Tim & I are thanks to Marcus. Since he came with us he ended up taking a lot of pictures for us.

Here are some pictures from the cave.
Then we finally made it to Texas on Saturday. This is another place that I had not been.
Even though our trip was really short we decided we wanted to do one thing while we were in Dallas. We heard that the Aquarium was really cool and decided that we should go.
The building was really cool inside. It felt like you had walked into a jungle with birds flying around. When you walk in there is a waterfall and you start at the top. As you walk down and around you see a lot of animals. Not all of the animals were in cages and it didn't feel like you were just looking at animals. There were some you could feed (I didn't do that but Tim and Marcus did) and some were just behind fences. It didn't feel like you were in a building.
I also liked that not only did they have fish and animals like that but they had other animals as well like monkeys, a cheetah, birds and other cool animals.
It was a fun trip to Texas, but it was good to be home. Tim drove the whole way and that was a lot of driving. We made it back to Rexburg on Wednesday so that I could go to work. On our way back from Texas we ran into the HUGE snowstorm in New Mexico. It was an adventure to drive through, but I am glad that we made it back safely. One last place on our trip home that I have never been to is Lake Powell. I told Tim this is a place we have to go back to. I can't believe I finally made it to Lake Powell and it was December and I didn't have a boat. I now can say I have been there, but I hope one day I can say I have been in Lake Powell!

What a fun ROAD TRIP. The pictures are really cool. Yes, Lake Powell is a huge POND that we need to be IN. So glad you got to see places you have never been before. Thanks for sharing your grand adventures.
