New York

This is my catch up post since I haven't been giving my blog that much attention.  But we are now done with school and I will have a lot more time to do more things that I enjoy more than sitting in class and doing homework.

The beginning of July we officially finished our classes and decided to head off to New York to celebrate graduation, both our birthdays, and our anniversary.

We started off our trip with Wicked and liked it so much we also ended up going to Newsies while we were there.  Of course we had to go to a Yankees game.  It was too bad the game got rain delayed but I was so glad we got to go and had so much fun!

We also visited Philadelphia and were able to see great sights like the Liberty Bell.

The oldest residential street in the United States.

Betsy Ross Home.

Rocky Statue and stairs.

We also went to Amish country and were able to go on a wagon ride.  I was sad that it was more directed to the tourists with shopping areas with expensive things that were not even made by the Amish.  So I stuck to the few things that were made by the Amish like homemade ice cream.

This is my version of milking a cow.

Then we went to Washington DC.  It has been a while since I have been to DC so it was fun to see the monuments again.

Then back in New York we went to the lookout of the Empire State building

911 Memorial

Central Park is a lot bigger than I thought and it ended up being more of a hike than a walk like I originally was thinking.  We loved going to museums and being able to do so many of the tourist attractions in New York.

We wanted to find the temple in New York City and wish we would have had time to go inside.  You could easily miss it if you were not looking out for the Angel Moroni.

The rest of the trip we spent with Lloyd, Amy, and Genevieve.  We went to the Statue of Liberty, Bronx Zoo, had New York Cheesecake that was delicious, and cannolis.

Then we drove to Boston and had sea food, Boston cream pie, more cannolis, Freedom Trail, were able to catch up with friend from Idaho Paul, Jess, and their baby Franky.

Then we drove to Palmyra and saw some church sights, the pageant, the temple, and the sacred grove.

After our fun adventures we drove to Buffalo to help Lloyd and Amy move back to Utah.  I couldn't believe that Niagara Falls was only like 15 minutes away from their house.  So we did the Maid of the Mist and were able to get so close to the falls.  I was in shock with how big they really were.

While in Buffalo we had to try Buffalo wings and slip in some chocolate cake for my Birthday before we started the long drive back to Utah.

We had such a great trip and were blessed to see so many great sights on the east coast.  We have now officially moved to Rockland and are excited to start getting ready for our little girl that should be here in about 12 weeks.

Elaine, what an exciting summer you've had! Little girls are so fun... I might be a bit partial to them :) How fun that you and Brenda are pregnant at the same time. That is the greatest! I love sneaking a peak at your blog every once in a while. It looks like you are loving life!

Wow. You saw so many historic places up close and personal! Great vacation. Ethan and I are trying to guess what the food was at the Yankee game. Your post made my heart smile watching both of you. You look great and it's hard to believe that your daughter will be here in 12 weeks. Can't wait to come to Rockland again soon.
Lots of hugs
