The perfect labor for me

Some people asked about my labor experience so i decided to post it so I also could remember.
My original due date was October 21 but based off the ultrasound it was the 26. I went to the doctor on the 22 and was dilated to a two and she says kemry was still pretty high. She couldn't reach my membranes to strip them and so she scheduled me to be induced the morning of the 28th at 4 am or 6 am I would need to call the night before to find out.

I was really scared to be induced and didn't feel really good about it so I was hoping that kemry would come on her own when she was ready. Tim and I decided we needed to have one last date night before she came. We decided to go into town on Thursday to eat out.We went to Texas road house Tim's favorite, window shopped for our new house and then headed home. We watched a little bit of TV then got ready for bed. As I was getting in bed I had a little bit of a pain but not in my stomach where everyone said contractions are. I was thinking I had a pulled groin because I had heard a pop the day before and it was really sore on one side. Tim called his mom because she gives great nurse advice and we were going to put ice on it. As soon as Tim hung up with her I said the pain is now in my stomach. I didn't know if it was a contraction but Tim started to time them. Previously I had told the doctor how far away from the hospital we lived and she said to still only come in if my watery broke or contractions had been five minutes apart for an hour.I had worried about not making it to the hospital but the doctor said with this being my first baby I shouldn't worry. So as Tim was timing they were five minutes apart at 10:30pm and as they had been for 45 minutes he started to pack up the car. I remember asking if this was really it. We had already been into Pocatello that day and I didn't just want to be sent home.that question was definitely answered in the car.

Driving to the hospital I was grabbing onto the side of the car and Tim's hand. We even did the breathing they teach you and yes it helped. It gave me something to focus on with our drive. That drive made it really feel like we live in the middle of no where. I don't know the exact time but my contractions were only a few minutes apart and Tim joked what if you have this baby on the side of the road and make it on the news. All I remember saying is that is NOT FUNNY and that he better speed and get pulled over before that happens.

We got to the emergency room around midnight and I couldnt even get out of the car I was trying to wait between contractions. The lady asked if I was in labor and Tim took the car around to the other side and a nice lady was going to escort me to labor and delivery. Five steps later I have another contraction in the hall with nothing to hold onto and I almost drop to the floor. The lady panics going your going to have this baby in the hall I better get you a wheel chair. She takes me to the other side of the hospital that I would not have made it to walking! And they give me a robe to change into. Tim is still not there and I run into the bathroom trying to change in between contractions. I can't even tie up the robe I'm in pain standing up so I walk out of the bathroom and throw up all over the floor. Lovely. Right as Tim got there.
At this point they check and I'm dilated to a 7. They ask if I want an epidural and I had told Tim way before I was ever in labor my plan was to wait as long as I could without. I thought I would be in labor forever and would want to walk around or use a ball or jet tub. I didn't just want to be laying on a table for hours. Tim was still helping me breath as they were getting me hooked up to everything. As I also hate needles I didn't want an iv put in me. I had then cap off the end and cover it all up so I couldn't see anything. The lady had to poke me 4 times to get it and actually had to have someone else come to do it. At this point contractions were so close I couldn't rest in between. I was so tired and asked for the epidural. No one was in the hospital at that time so they called the anesthesiologist and said it would be 20_30 minutes they should have said it would be that long of a wait when they first asked if I wanted one! So I waited and made Tim breath with and give me sips of water. He got there and I was so nervous and uncomfortable sitting on the side of the bed.he decided to do a spinal because of how fast things were going, meaning I would only have 2 hours to deliver the baby before it would wear off. I got the spinal at 1:30 am and it took him 4 tries to put it in. I was super frustrated and so was Tim I finally had to ask for a break because it hurt trying to hold still and was uncomfortable. After it worked though life was amazing. I almost wanted to take a nap because I was so tired from contractions. I was now dilated to a 9 and felt so good. I told Tim I was always getting an epidural from now on. I can't believe I was brave enough to get it and didn't even cry. They broke my water after a while and asked if I felt pressure to push. I didn't feel anything it was fabulous. I tried pushing and they could see the head. I was laughing because it wad weird having my legs in stirrups but not being able to feel them how I wad seeing them. They said as I laughed her head would come out more and told me to stop and ran to grab the doctor. She came in and I pushed again as the doctor was getting a gown on and she pretty much caught kemry. She was born at 3:03 am. I couldn't believe how fast things went and how it was over. I wasn't pregnant anymore and had a precious little baby to hold in my arms. I loved watching Tim hold her as the doctor finished up with me. It was such an amazing moment to be able to start our family. Kemry was so perfect and our little gift from heaven.
Then since I had lost my dinner and was so hungry the nurse brought us some sandwiches
Now that I have had one baby everyone says with your second labor goes a lot faster. People have laughed and said next time I'll have to leave the house when I feel the first contraction. I'm just thankful everything went well and the only thing I would change was being poked so many times. Other than that everything was perfect.
