A New Adventure

This past weekend I went down to Rockland to visit Tim. On Saturday they were having their annual cattle drive. Yes, I now can say I have actually been on a cattle drive. They have their cows by their houses during the winter and then move them to a different plot of land in the summer. This was quite the experience. I didn't really think that people actually still did stuff like this but I guess I was wrong. We left his sister's house at 8AM to move the cows. I am thankful for 4 wheelers and that I did not have to ride a horse! There were a lot of people and all of the nieces and nephews went on the cattle drive too. Sometimes I felt like we were in a scene from a movie where cows were on the road and cars were trying to get by but had to wait for the cows to move. Because this actually happened multiple times. We finally got the cows where they needed to be and we got back to the house around 4. It was a long day on a 4 wheeler and a long day out in the sun. I'm pretty sure everyone got more sun than they wanted. It was fun to spend the weekend with Tim and his family.
Sorry for not having any exciting pictures. I have learned my lesson about taking my phone (camera or anything) on a 4 wheeler with me. Especially when there is lots of land for a little phone to get lost.

fun! We went to a cattle run last year. It was neat to watch them bring all the cattle in. It kept reminding me of Man from Snowy river.

Wow. . . Elaine, I'm proud of you. Look at all the adventures that are awaiting you in this new life. I'm glad that you have learned the "IMPORTANT" lesson about cell phones and wheelers. I hope you can recover from all that sun soon. Love you.
